I’ve always been a big proponent of making face cream recipes at home. As long as you’ve got the right ingredients, they’re very easy to make and you’re assured that there are no toxic chemicals in the creams that you put in your face.
I have my own face cream recipes which I’ve made after many years of trial and error based on my own skin conditions. It should be the same with you. Look at all the basic face cream recipe available online and experiment until you find one that best suit your skin type. Unfortunately, this is the only way it works when it comes to skin care. What works for me may not necessarily work for you.
Look for face cream recipes online and you’ll find a lot of good recipes for whatever your skin care needs are. You can usually make use of ingredients that you already have in your kitchen such as lemon, honey, avocado, baking soda and the like. But it’s also a good idea to get some stock on essential oils and other common face cream ingredients such as the following:
- shea butter
- rose water
- aloe vera
- essential oils such as jasmine, sandalwood, ylang ylang and rose oil
Here are some face cream recipes that you can make at home.
Face Cream Recipe With Beeswax
Beeswax is one of the most common ingredient in face creams. It’s great for dry skin as it locks in moisture and helps soften the skin’s surface. It also mixes well with many other face cream ingredients and can be safely used with sunscreen as well.
Here’s an extremely easy recipe that needs only beeswax and olive oil.

Face Cream Recipe With Shea Butter
Shea butter is another common ingredient for face cream recipes. It is especially used as an antiging ingredient. This is one of my favorite ingredient and I always make sure I have it available at home. In fact, you don’t even need to mix shea butter with anything to get its benefits. You can simply just massage pure shea butter on to your skin – leaves it very soft indeed.
Shea Butter is a great face cream ingredient and is used to treat various skin problems such as eczema, rosacea, stretch marks and rashes.

Face Cream Recipe Aloe Vera
I love aloe vera. We have a plant at home and it has served me well all these years. In the summer, when we get sunburnt (what can I say I don’t always follow my advice of not staying in the sun too much!), I just cut an aloe vera leaf and rub it on. It’s sticky but so extremely soothing.
You can make your own aloe vera face cream too.
Many home made recipes don’t use a preservative. So mix only in little amounts that you can use in a week to a month
Honey is a good preservative but makes cream rather sticky
